Hi there to everyone! For those of you that are on LJ then you might have seen me around the sight. This is going to be a really good spot for a lot of people. Wish I would have had this four years ago when we first bought this rehab house that we currently live in and are still working on. But anyhow I would like to welcome everyone to this site and hope to see lots of great projects and such.
Hi, I’m new to the site. My friend and I have a combined house blog (like two blogs in one?) over at http://www.oneprojectcloser.com. Is it possible to have those entries imported here? It took me a long time to get everything set up over there and I wouldn’t want to lose it all :-) This site is a great idea for home refurbers. Kudos to the programmers and designers.
Got word today from our mortgage broker, and in the interest of getting this done ASAP, we’ve moved up the closing date to Friday! This is great, not only because I can’t wait to be the proud owner of a new place, but also because it almost doubles the window of time I have to be able to complete all that needs to be done. So, we finally got some work done around the new house this week. We are watching the finances (business is not the greatest this year) and this slows us down a bit. A couple of weeks ago we did get our final, so now the push is to get the house livable. Outside we are grading 12” off the top of the yard and we will backfill this with good soil. On the left is how it looks now, on the right is how it used to look. You may think it’s not an improvement, but if you look closely, on the blown-up version of the left, you can see a new lattice there. When we moved in, the back yard had an awning, with lots of ferns and other low sun plants.
