The Daughter's Room #3: Room Done - On to building storage.

09-01-2012 02:07 PM by MarkTheFiddler | 6 comments »

Painting, flooring, hardware, trim is done. You may remember that I built the door trim from scratch. The shoe molding is also mine. Baseboards, I bought. The design for the simple murals started from my head but they don’t look anything like I started with. My daughter kept refining it. What’s cool is Victoria, picked all her colors, the style of the murals, the location, size color combinations etc. She made her own templates for the edges and picked which edges I used for ea...

I need to touch up the base color here and there but painting will not be a major chore. Another minor chore will be to get the wobble out of his ceiling fan. It’s a nice looking, brushed nickel, Hunter fan so we are keeping it. It’s about 5 year old but I still see similar stuff in the box st...

11-08-2009 05:16 AM by Bothus | 2 comments »

I actually told the story about my free air compressor on Lumberjocks but since it has led to a kitchen/laundry room remodel I decided to follow up here. The short version is that I got a free air compressor years ago and it recently quit working. I went to Sear’s Outlet to see if they had any and ended up buying the little woman a new French door refrigerator that we were planning to buy after the first of the year. The new fridge wouldn’t fit where the old fridge was becau...
