Some time ago I posted a blog on the Lumberjocks website asking if anyone had any ideas on a two way opening door system for a toilet entry. http://lumberjocks.com/Grumpy/blog/8405I got some good ideas from that & also chased the World wide web. Hello. I am new to this site. It looks very interesting and great ideas!!! I have knotty pine in my basement. Literaly everywhere. The walls, the doors and the closets are all knotty pine. My house upstairs is very modern. I would like to also make the basement more modern. I have considered stripping the walls and than restaining but I don’t have a ton of time and the basement is huge. I also don’t want to commit to the amount of money it would cost to contract it out. Last week, some door to door sales guys came by pitching replacement windows. I thought “this ought to be fun”, and scheduled an appointment. Surprisingly, they seemed to have a darned good deal, 6 Anlin windows, including a monster picture window, for $3200 installed. Poking around gave us a fairly good impression of Anlin windows relative to various other premium vinyl windows (ie: Milgard, etc), but as we dug further we started to think that vinyl wasn’t a look we liked.
