03-11-2013 08:37 PM by Todd A. Clippinger | 79 comments »

Hey everybody! I have been very busy between working on my client’s projects, squeezing in a project for another contractor, and rebuilding my website. As if that wasn’t enough, I decided to shoot a video to share with you what my favorite tool is for scraping off dried or semi-dried glue as I worked on one of those projects. I am really excited to bring another video to the woodworking and DIY community, so I hope you enjoy and find it helpful. Your friend in the shop, Todd A....

04-24-2015 10:56 AM by Katies_DIY_Blog | 193 comments »

In the second part of this blog, instead of just thinking about the house as whole, I thought I’d focus more on just the kitchen in which adding a touch of DIY could increase the value of your home. Using a fair bit of my real estate experience, my slow but steady gaining of DIY experience/knowledge and an article I found online here at TheMoveChannel, I thought I’d write this short piece to carry on with the series! Now no one is expecting you to have a PHD in electronics here and create ...

DIY Ideas #1: A few of my ideas of how to turn you bedroom from drab to fab

07-27-2015 10:36 AM by Katies_DIY_Blog | 29 comments »

If there’s one thing I hate it’s sleeping in a bedroom that’s full of clutter and clothes everywhere. When I do get a chance to clean and tidy the room though, there are a couple of ideas I have in mind on how to turn it from something that’s average into something beautiful. Of course there are...

08-04-2015 11:26 AM by Katies_DIY_Blog | 6 comments »

I’m sure we can all have a good go at creating a modern interior with modern styles and trends. We can all buy a bunch of materials and tools and get to work on a brand new untouched space and finish with a masterpiece. However, what if you’re looking to create a more vintage look rather than a modern one? How can you create that antique look yourself? I did a bit of research online in an attempt to figure out for myself and for this blog just how can I create a vintage look for my interior o...

Bathroom Remodel #6: Practicing for the shower doors

01-03-2015 08:03 PM by Dan Lyke | 143 comments »

So with the expanded window, we needed to obscure some of the glass. I thought “Oh, let’s go to Michael’s, get some stencils and etching acid, and put some patterns on it”. Charlene heard that and thought “Let’s put pictures of my favorite childhood camping spot on all the available glass”. Including the $700 shower doors. So now we’re practicing. A lot. Started with the Harbor Freight “air eraser”, which is ...

In Episode 28 I gave information to help the woodworkers decide which shop vacuum size might be the best to use with the Dust Deputy. Here are the last 2 videos: Episode 27: Dust Deputy Review Episode 28: Choosi...

05-04-2011 08:00 PM by Mike Blank, CGR CAPS | 2 comments »

We have been building wood, composite and solid PVC decks and screened porches here in Lancaster County, PA since 1999. With over 12 years experience I can tell you the decision most families struggle with is what kind of decking material to choose for their new deck?
