I finished removing the remaining baseboard and door moulding today, which revealed more loose plaster. Gotta love that lath and plaster! I will probably replace, I mean rebuild the in the wall shelving to better fit with the new trim moulding once the walls have been repaired. Also got notice today that the wet tile saw will be here Wednesday, so I will be able to continue on with that later this week.Wall behind the stove:Doorway from Kitchen to Laundry Room:Kitchen Wall:Kitchen Wall with ...

Okay, so I went to Sears to purchase their wet saw tile cutter, none in stock, it had to be ordered. Several days later we got the automated voicemail that the saw was ready for pick up. I got the saw home and opened it to find that one side of the metal table top was bent so badly that the hinge wouldn’t work. My wife takes it back the next day and they exchange it for a new one. When I opened the replacement, it also had a bent table top but on the other side now. Back to Sears w...

The install was fair but the design just inhaled large volumes of air….anyway many times lowest bit is also a hurried piece of junk. Did I tell you the house and garden are very nice. In a beautiful neighborhood. I’...

This was the second project I tackled shortly after moving in to the new place. The kitchen had nice quality oak custom oak cabinets all around, yellow formica countertops, florescent lighting. It was well maintained but certainly did not conform to the ‘look’ my wife was going for.
Basically we wanted a kitchen makeover, but didn’t want to spend a fortune. Things we really wanted were:-recessed halogen lighting-granite countertops-new flooring-hanging pot rack-whi...

Just in time for the launch of HomeRefurbers, I finished hanging my kitchen cabinets at about midnight last night. After a minor disaster with creating the styles and rails on my router table (which I blogged about here), I am back on track and they are all in place.
I got so anxious that I hung them before staining them, which I think I will finish this weekend (they need a little sanding too). When I do I’ll be sure to post photos in the “project” section. So stay tuned...
