03-13-2012 10:57 PM by Craftsman on the Lake | 7 comments »

This is a simple video that will show how I bend flashing for a small job. A brake is nice but if you don’t bend stuff much then having one is a luxury that isn’t needed much.

That old house #1: Old house - new kitchen

08-19-2011 03:55 PM by BillyJ | 5 comments »

I began this project a while ago and just now had some time to start writing about it. This is one of those projects that hold a surprise behind every swing of the hammer. Here is what I have to work with. It’s an older home. Built in 1939, it started out as a three-room house. Owner after owner left their mark. Foundation Repairs

11-24-2008 08:16 AM by 3fingerpat | 3 comments »

Well, thought I would start a new blog to document the foundation repairs that are necessary on my old house. We have had several contractors submit bids and provide their recommendations. There are actually two foundations on the house, the first is the original house foundation and the second was for the addition that was added some time in the 70’s we think, not really sure when. The newer foundation has been having blowout at several points, which one contractor showed me was due...
