To add paragraph spacing to a large group of sentences:

  1. Use your mouse or arrow keys to position your cursor where you would like the first paragraph to end.
  2. Press the <Enter> key.
  3. Press the <Enter> key again.
    This will add a second line return and insert a blank line between the two paragraphs.

To make a word or group of words appear in bold text:

  1. Use your mouse to highlight the word(s) you want in bold.
  2. Click the Bold button found in the Formatting Toolbar.
    This will place an asterisk (*) on either side of the highlighted text, indicating it will appear in bold print in the final version.

Note: Advanced users can simply type the asterisks on either side of the word(s) they would like in bold.

To make a word or group of words appear in italicized text:

  1. Use your mouse to highlight the word(s) in italics.
  2. Click the Italics button found in the Formatting Toolbar.
    This will place an underscore (_) on either side of the highlighted text, indicating it will appear in italic print in the final version.

Note: Advanced users can simply type the underscores on either side of the word(s) they would like in italics.

To make a bulleted list:

  1. First type out the text you want to make into the bulleted list.
    Press the <Enter> key after each item to put the next item on a new line.
  2. Once you’ve typed out all the text you want, go to the beginning of each line and add an asterisk (*).
    This will display as a bulleted list in the final version.

To make a numbered list:

  1. First type out the text you want to make into the numbered list.
    Press the <Enter> key after each item to put the next item on a new line.
  2. Once you’ve typed out all the text you want, go to the beginning of each line and add a # sign.
    This will display as a numbered list in the final version.
  1. Use your mouse to highlight the word(s) you would like to make into a hyperlink.
  2. Click the Link button found in the Formatting Toolbar.
    This will open a dialog box.
  3. Insert the full website address (including “http://”) into the field.
  4. Click <OK> to close the dialog box.
    The text you made into the hyperlink will display in quotes, followed by a colon, followed by the website address. In the final version, only the text in quotes will appear as blue and underlined.

To insert an image already saved somewhere on the Internet:

  1. Using a different web browser window or tab, locate the image you would like to insert.
  2. Right-click on that image.
    If using FireFox, select Copy Image Location.
    If using Internet Explorer, select Properties, highlight the image Address (URL), and copy it with <Ctrl> C or right-click Copy.
  3. Return to the web browser that is logged in to HomeRefurbers.com and place the cursor where you want that image to display in your text.
  4. Click the Insert image button located in the Basic Formatting toolbar.
    This will open a dialog box where you can enter the image address.
  5. Right-click and “Paste” the image address and click <OK>.
    This will open another dialog box where you can enter the image Description.
  6. Enter whatever mouse-over description you want for the image and click <OK>.
    This will open a third dialog box, asking you to insert the web address if you want the image to be a hyperlink. Populate that information, if you so chose, and click <OK>. The dialog box will close and the image address, description, and web address will appear in raw format in the text.

To insert an image already saved somewhere on the Internet (Advanced):

  1. Using a different web browser window or tab, locate the image you would like to insert.
  2. Right-click on that image.
    If using FireFox, select Copy Image Location.
    If using Internet Explorer, select Properties, highlight the image Address (URL), and copy it with <Ctrl> C or right-click Copy.
  3. Return to the web browser that is logged in to HomeRefurbers.com and place the cursor where you want that image to display in your text.
  4. Right-click and select Paste.
  5. Place an exclamation mark (!) before and after the image hyperlink text.
    The image will display in the final version of the text.
  6. To add a Description to the image, include it in parentheses immediately before the second exclamation point.
  7. To make the image a hyperlink to a website, add a colon and the website address after the closing parenthesis.

To embed images into your HomeRefurbers post

  1. Start creating a new Project, Blog entry, or Forum topic or start adding comments to someone else’s entry.
  2. After you get to the point where you want to embed the image, open another web browser.
  3. Navigate to the image you’ve stored on an image hosting website.
  4. Locate the image you want to embed.
  5. Locate the HTML Tag and copy it to your clipboard.
    This process may vary from website to website.
  6. Return to you LumberJock post.
  7. Right-click in the post where you want to embed the image.
  8. Select Paste.
    This will paste the HTML Tag coding into your post.
  9. Click Preview to see how your image will look and to verify the image will display properly.
  10. Repeat as many times as you have the need to embed images!
