Another issue we didn’t expect was the poor condition of the finish on all the Kitchen, Bathroom and Hallway cabinets. They are all raised panel oak doors and in need of refinishing; here are some pictures of the before shots from the kitchen cabinets (the other cabinets were in the same condition):

So after scrubbing the cabinets clean, some light sanding, next we found the perfect matching stain and then applied some wiping varnish to finish the job. Lots of work but extremely necessary and worth the effort, the cabinets look better than what the pictures show:

Yes! It looks as though there were only one or two coats before you finished the job properly. It also appears, though could be photograph, that the lacquer was not dry before the second coat.
