« Part 1: Kitchen Remodel Part 2 of Kitchen remodel series Part 3: One step forward, two steps back »

Just a quick update on the kitchen work this weekend. We had to take back one box of broken floor tiles and ended up picking up two more extra boxes just in case in preparation for the floor tiling next month.
I also reworked the doorway btwn the living room and kitchen; I had to rip open one side when we got our new refrigerator since the opening wasn’t wide enough, even after removing the refer doors. The original opening was only 29” wide; I hope to get it to 31.5” wide once I am done retriming the doorway.
I also replaced three sections of the cabinet facing that was damaged during the new countertop installation. I also made and installed a pull out drawer below the kitchen sink. And I installed a cove moulding underneath the countertop and started installing the new tiles above the backsplash. We now wish we had just had the granite backsplash built high enough so the tiles wouldn’t be necessary but oh well. I have to go to buy a tile cutter so I can start working around the window casing. Enjoy!

I like those countertops and the back splash.
