Spamming - 6 replies

Spammers are just a pain – plain and simple. I know it is a “free advertisement” for them, but it does nothing for the site. This topic has been discussed many times at the LJ site, and many members have been weighed in on the topic. MsDebbieP does a fantastic job monitoring ALL of the sites, but there should be technical means...

Any suggestions? - 4 replies

Now that the leaves are falling and snow is probably around the corner here in Michigan, I’m already looking toward next year and my honey-do-list. Rather then a long explanation, and staving off any questions as to why I want to undertake such a project, I have only one thing to say – SWMBO. Although probably more difficult then mov...

Remodeling Show / Deck Expo - Oct. 13 - 15 - 4 replies

Has anyone ever attended the Remodeling Show? Is it worth-while going? I just returned from the AWFS Show in Las Vegas, and it was great. Learned a lot, bought some good stuff, and had a great time. I’m wondering whether the Remodeling Show would be worth the time to drive there. I’ve seen the vendor list, and there seems to be a ...

Not that it matters much, but, do you think... - 8 replies

Let me start off with a disclaimer – I AM NOT A FULL-TIME PROFESSIONAL. Although I’ve been putzing around with woodworking and carpentry for most of my adult life, most of it’s been out of necessity or fun. Of late, I’ve gotten my builders license and have begun a remodeling business as a side job. I remember my first ...

Honestly? Is this what the future is going to look like? - 6 replies

Ok, I have to admit something. I DON’T always read the fine print. When Martin sold this site, I didn’t read all that goes with it (the new owner’s business plan, strategy, etc.). Perhaps I missed something. It didn’t hit me until just now. You mean the new “projects” are going to be about ordering checks and ...

Topcon Level Manual - 7 replies

I just traded a fly rod for a semi-used Topcon AT-24A level. Unfortunately, it did not come with a instruction manual. I’ve used transits, but nothing this “good” before. After an hours worth of searching the Internet and Topcon’s website, I cannot find a manual for the AT-24A. Does anyone have a PDF of the manual or k...

Fein MultiMaster - 15 replies

Does anyone out there own or use a Fein MultiMaster? Any thoughts? Is it worth the money to invest in one rather than purchase a disposable multi-tool? I’ve been putting off purchasing one because of the money. I lost track of the number of times I used some other tool that did a half-vast job, wishing I had a Fein or something similar.

PE pipe - 2 replies

I want to get a jump on my shop heating issue before winter officially sets in up here in the northern climes. I have a long run for NG to my shop, and have a question regarding using PE pipe. First, how many of you have used this underground? I have a 25’ run between house and shop. Second, because I am using black pipe, how far below ...
