« Part 3: Applying the skirting! Part 4 of Building a porch. series Part 5: Applying the top railing boards. »

I finally got the 2” X 6” for the balusters.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It took approximately 10 minutes to cut out a baluster, Then I rounded all of the corner with a 1/2” radius bit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Piled up ready to apply.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First one!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I changed the spacing of them to about 3”,because 6” didn’t look right.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Looking through the baluster pattern is pleasing to the eye.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Balusters all on!

To be continued!

The deck is coming along nicely. Are you planning on painting it, staining, or letting it weather naturally?

We already used a semi-transparent stain.

I’m about to pick out some images for the next blog series.
