Carrier Infinity Series Not for 2 Story Houses? - 11 replies I just had an HVAC guy out to give me an estimate on a new Carrier Infinity series furnace. He told me that the variable speed blower models will not work in a 2 story house (with a basement). He said that the second floor rooms will always be colder because not as much air is force up there when the blower is at low speed. Is that true? |

Tile underlayment mortar bed mix - 23 replies Can anyone recommend a mortar mix for a 3/4” thick underlayment for a tiling project? The only one I’ve seen so far is 1 part Portland cement to 3 parts sand. I’ll be using wire lathe, but I’m still concerned about cracking. Thanks,Mark |

Tile underlayment problem...help! - 34 replies Here is my problem, I’ve got a 4” (?) thick concrete sill that runs through the center of my foyer. It was the threshold for where the front door used to be. The previous owner poured a self leveling cement slab before laying tiles. Since the sill and wood move at different rates eventually the underlayment cracked and disintegrated.... |
