Well today I got to working on the second bench.
I assembled it and brought it over to the deck and trimmed up the straight bench and the curved bench so that they fit in the corner of the deck.
I then went and got the trim router with a 1/4” roundover (got to make it kid friendly) and a sander to get rid of the saw marks, saw cuts and roundover where the trim router won’t reach.
I did the edges on both surfaces of the benches and sanded both of them.
Here are the finished benches.
and from the back.
Now she’s asking for a ceiling fan.
Planter boxes next.

Awe shucks. You folks are doing a great job! I am jealous in that I didn’t record the creation of my own deck. I’ll stop complaining and get some pics up here too!
Coincidentally, last week I also built a built-in bench for my deck. I love it. It looks like your is standing on its own, right?
I made the top out of 2×6 redwood and my first thought was also to round-over the edge’s more than the factory edges of the boards. I am also looking forward to staining the bench for it to stand out.

Splendid job Karson.
That’s going to be the focal point of the whole back yard now!

The deck came out really good Karson I hope you have lots of good times on it with your family, my neighbors had one them fans they were neat we lived right next a river and at night there was always a insect problem and the fan was strong enough to keep the little bugger at bay as long as you stayed close to the table, plus it keep the area cool some times a little to cool being that close to the river.
