Part 1: Demo time!
I have been targetting my living room for the longest time. And since I have been playing with small pieces of wood for several weeks now, my cash situation has recovered and I had the money to invest in my wood floor. Part 2: Trim out the fireplace.
My last post on this has been aging for a while while I get a grip on reality. I haven’t quit working on the house however. I built some tables for another room and upholstered a couch for the living room. I also upholstered 2 sections of a five piece sectional for my wifes den. I suppose I have been doing that to avoid the inevitable. I have to trim out the fireplace. My ideas for refacing the fireplace are way WAY WAY on the back burner. Part 3: Progress finally
I only worked about 12 hours this weekend. I made enough casing for 4 doors. That will take care of all the thresholds in the vicinity. I made enough quarter round for the entire room and then some. I stained and poly’d the fireplace shoe molding. I painted all the baseboard. Most importantly, I installed the baseboard and quarter round in the corner where the Christmas tree will go.
