Part 1: Strip the old stuff!
Aside from a piece of furniture to strip, you’re going to need some tools. A little introduction here. Wire cutters – I didn’t actually use those pliers. I found a very old, dull and loose pair of wire cuters. You are going to pull thousands of staples, dull (not notched) wire cutters can grab staples without cutting the in half. Part 2: Prep the furniture
I’m sorry for having so little information in this post from the onset. As I need to do certain things that I consider pred – I’ll add them to this blog. Some with video – some with photos. In the meantime – I’ll start with 2 preps.
Part 3: Make your life easier.
Stripping furniture creates a mound of discards. It can fill the trash in no time at all. Grab a long piece of dicards and stack the big bulky discards on it. Roll it up and tied it with another strip of the discards. No fuss – no muss – ready for bulk pickup.
Part 4: Make a throw pillow
Hey Refurbers, Sorry for skipping ahead but I have long since upholstered the couch I was stripping in the other post. I didn’t have a camera crew available (my 11 year old daughter) and I needed both hands for the work. You knew There was some sewing invloved in upholstery.
