I had to dig a little, but here are some progress pictures of the windows we put in our house. We moved into our house about 20 months ago. So the older pictures date back to 2006.
We used Pella windows. Lowe’s was the place with the best price at that time. We liked the wood frame and the metal clad on the outside to protect the wood from the elements.
We used a water base white wash as stain on the inside, with a water based polyurethane brushed finish.
Here you have a look of our master bedroom. The moulding around the window is made of a straight grain pine. We set up shop in the garage and made a lot of the moulding on the router table.
The bathtub was kind of a special project. We matched the granite tile to the counter tops and the shower. We designed the extra space around the tub for orchids. (I am a grower myself)
The “bonus room” over the garage, which turned into a quilting room for my wife had both double hung and casement windows. We are regretting the casement windows, because at night when you open the windows, you trap the bugs between the screen and the glass. This gets messy after a while.
Almost every room in the house has a different color. It looks nice, but it’s a drama to keep track of the colors.
I hope this gives you some ideas for your house.

Thanks Debbie.

The fireplace was build from rocks the kids collected over time on the beach here in Cardiff by the Sea. We took them home bucket by bucket.
This is the fireplace in the main living room. The slabs are Sebastien Sandstone. Those i cut myself. For the rock I brought in a mason.

The progress pictures of the windows are a beautiful sight to behold. estate agent Suffolk The attention to detail in the molding is impressive, and the use of Pella windows with metal cladding is practical. The added space for orchids in the bathroom is a wonderful touch. Great work!
