no previous part Part 1 of Changes before baby arrives. series no next part

Well my wife and I are expecting a baby come Feb and there are some changes that need to be made around the house before then. One of which is to turn the loft area of upstairs into a bedroom. Which I’m not particularly excited about because, frankly I like the loft. But being as how we will need another bedroom… So I am going to be removing the railing and putting up a wall with two built in bookshelves. The other major undertaking is to install a fireplace. Which will be a pretty big job, but well worth all the effort. Because lets face it electric heat pumps are pretty much worthless. I miss my wood stove at our old house and will thoroughly enjoy watching movies or playing games around the fire on cold winter nights again. Needless to say there are more projects to come, but these have taken priority.

Josh – congrats to you and your wife! That’s awesome news. Have a great time with your ‘art’. The room, shelves and fireplace sound like great ideas.

Congratulations! Little ones sure can change a man’s view on life…..and lofts. Another bedroom will also add value to the home. Good luck and have fun with the renovation.
