Part 1: Intro

We’ve lived in our one story ranch for almost nine years now. We are figuring that we will end up retiring in this home as we’ll never get what we want out of the resale of it (in a not so great school district and a not so great neighborhood but not bad), and we keep renovating it how we like it. I’m due to graduate with a bachelors degree in January (10 years in the making!) and instead of paying to rent somewhere, we’ve decided to have my party here at the house &#...

Part 2: Slow progress...

so I’ve managed to complete all of the painting in this room. The old light fixture has been removed, and is waiting on the new one to go up and in. So I’ve been applying the 72 in level over this floor in the way the planks are going to run and I am coming up with 1/4 (or more in possibly one spot) in low spots all over. I was hoping to not have to use slc – but it seems to do it right that is going to be the way of it.

Part 5: Into the SLC we go...

10-04-2014 01:46 PM by Becky | 3 comments »

I’m writing this entry as more of a checklist / where I’ve been for myself. I’ve watched a lot of YouTube videos these past few days and read as much information as I could get my hands on about laying down SLC. There’s a great article on it at my favorite tile forum's reference library or lovingly called the reference library. Anyway, Here’s my short list of specs : 1. Room is 11×13, including one step, and one doorway2. cardboard dams will be placed a...
