I am finally in the home stretch with the kitchen all the cabinets are in and all that’s left is the counter tops, dish washer, a few electrical hook ups. We have chosen Granite with an under mount sink which will be installed in about 10 days.

Well its back to the shop after a lot of traveling I hope to get these shelves done soon and start on the tile then the big job, building kitchen cabinets I have a tax id now so I can go to a supply house near me that only sells to contractors and you have to at least have a sales tax certificate to get be able to buy there at all so I am looking for some good pricing as well. Florida is strange with all the rules and license laws they have.

Oh yes – looking good. Everything is looking great. I like the cherry wood – makes it pop. Nice work.

OK, what’s the next project??

Thanks Billy, The counter tops will run to the wall therefore no back splashes I will design and cut medallions from tile and run all from there and of course finish up the trim and painting should take me into 2011. I have to get out there for some fishing soon so that will have to come first.

Well here is a glitch. The walls at each side of the sink in photo #2 are bowed about 3/8” so if I don’t fix it there will be almost a 1/2” space between the wall and the counter top. To fix it I am going to notch out the wall starting at the front and go back to the rear wall so the counter can slide in then I will have to fill the wall back in around the counter so it fits with no gap. &*%#ing details!

Sandhill, it is always a disappointment when you’ve done everything right and you find a wall bowed. I always hate dealing with that, but it is quite normal.

I think you’ve done a great job so far, can’t wait to see the final pictures.

Here are some more photos with the new counter tops. All the appliances are now in place and all thats left is the tile work on the walls below the upper cabinets, Hook up the water and patch the wall where the bow was cut out to fit in the counter.
