I spent the day finishing up the cribbing and putting up the six electrical boxes for the lighting with strain reliefs. Tomorrow I will start on getting the insulation done then its up to my help when I will get the sheet rock up. I have a crown molding job to do which will take all of next week so it will be at least three weeks before I can start on the sheet rock. I hope to bring the sheet rock lift back with me from the Balimore job.

Ouch. Do not envy for a moment your task of getting the drywall up on that ceiling.
Courage!

That will be an awesome shop space when it’s done, and you’ll get there!!!

Dan there is a trick to getting the drywall up. I told my son, I would hold the sheets up while he screwed. He said “DEAL” and I built the dead mans. His arm was about to fall off.
Sandhill – it’s looking really good.I wish my shop were as “Messy” as yours. Please keep us posted.

Does the lift have a laser guidance system to wiggle through your shop equipment?..lol

All the insulation is up and the equipment moved to one side. I hope I can get the rock up before I go to AFSM for a Marquetry class with Patrick Edwards in Feb.

It went up fast and easy with no itching yeah I am off to Baltimore Tue and back on sat so that gives me a little more then 3 weeks before I leave for San Diego for a week when I get back I should finish the painting then set it all back up. I may change the lay out some.
Thank everyone

GaryL, I thought I hated fiberglass insulation until I recently replaced the K&T wiring with Romex in blown-in cellulose. Gimme those itchy old rolls any day.

Getting the ceiling up always brightens everything up. Looks great.
Now keep the mud flying…lol
Ohh….then the sanding…almost as much fun as the insulation.

Amen to that, I have about half left to tape. I did this so many times I don’t need to sand after the last coat just a sponge and once the paints on you never see a line.
