Part 1: Its starting to look like a real shop
I started this about 11 months ago but we had some obstacles to maneuver around along the way. First was getting the electric in. 100AMP service then insulation to the walls and put up 5/8” fire code sheet rock, then the lighting. Now I am putting up the ceiling, yea I know it should go up before the walls but I am putting up a 12” X 3/4” plywood boarder around the walls right to the ceiling so it makes no difference once its sealed and painted. Part 2: Sorry no pictures yet but here is where I'm at
Today I finished up putting the last of 68 2”X3”X8’ s up as well as over 100 blocks to keep them stable on the ends. I used up 10 lbs of 3” screws put the cribbing up. I also finished putting all the electrical boxes in, 8 in all. Tomorrow I will work on getting as much insulation up as I can and wire in the lights. I have a job in Baltimore that I will need to stay on location for about a week but when I return I will start bringing in the 5/8 sheetrock and get a ...
Part 3: Next stop is to pick up 21 sheets of 5/8" sheet rock. (Photos so far)
I spent the day finishing up the cribbing and putting up the six electrical boxes for the lighting with strain reliefs. Tomorrow I will start on getting the insulation done then its up to my help when I will get the sheet rock up. I have a crown molding job to do which will take all of next week so it will be at least three weeks before I can start on the sheet rock. Part 4: At last the big job is done
All thats left is some trim around the door and window and qho knows when I will get to that with projects backed up out the door. I am in talks with the owners of a chain of quilt shops and a quilting school to build a series of 4 Quilt and sewing stations “my designs” with some changes to be used and sold in there schools and online store so we’ll see what we agree on..
