ok well the snow is preatty much gone. now we have rain and floods. in the afternoon we had a flash freeze, all the shallow standing water froze. the roads were like skating rinks on the drive home that evening.
This is it in the morning, not much changed on the outside except some windows later in the day.
Here is the flood i was talking about. We are in a flood plane, so it will most likely get worst.
The rain…. we had almost all day i think.
I walked in and noticed the other group had erected our walls. They almost finished the interior walls except a couple. And, they had a couple mistakes :D
A look at what might be a cathedral ceiling in the bathroom. You can really see all the pic coming up and around the rafters for a perfect seal, the rafters will get insulated with spray foam (spf)
Where Brad and I were framign two small walls to shield off the stairs.
Our two small walls are up, we’re working a big crown out of the corner stud.
This is the mistake i was talking about, there were two of these. We had to leave 3/4’’ space between partition walls and the douplex wall for the fire rated drywall. The other group forgot about it, so brad and I had to remove one stude and cut 3/4’’ of the bottomw and top plate, then reinstall the studs.
and magicaly the problem is fixed…. had to cut the top plates sawing ontop of our heads, talk about having dead arms.
some of the windows went in. If my memory is right, triple pane, low-e, argon, fiberglass windows with poplar jam extensions. They really darken up the place. they have a dark geenish tint on them.
After we finished the walls and helped with some windows, brad and I ended up cleaning the scraps on the second floor. My excuse is that we ran out of stud lengths and i didn’t want to cut up the last two 16 footers we had.
So thats it for this Friday. Don’t hesitate with the questions, I love to answer them.
Thanks for reading
