Nice looking shelf, it would be hard to find a more rustic board.

You have a flair for colors MsDebbie I’ll never get, bold, shocking and cool. Being stuck in basic white, coffee white and light tan I wish I could do colors.

Nice work on the shelves MsD. Are they by chance made of willow? haha

haha no.. not this time :)
spalted maple!
these are the boards that we bought from a sawmill about an hour away for hmmm $30? And we saw a similar board (not as long) for $100 at a wood show.
oh yah.. we are pleased

I like the look of your rustic shelf with the bright colors. It is a lot like our juniper mantel with all the detail.

Just browsing around, running into your good looking shelves.
Is this a local trunk you sliced for a shelf?

no, we purchased this when at a lumberyard. I just couldn’t leave it behind.
I think the plank cost $30 and we got two pieces out of it.
At a wood show we saw something similar (except shorter) and it was going for $100!!!
