when i was a young adult going to Evergreen State College i purchased a delapidated home with in a mile of the school 3 acres at 16,000$ with grandfathers birth gift of bond money that had matured just for this purpose. long story shorter i rebuilt the home = re wired to code and (1973) forgot to conduit a beam that went between buildings so he never came back. i gave the home to a current tennant for his months rent and moved to return to the travels i so deeply loved. (freight trains) dishwashing and the hobo’s life. prior to departure i constructed furniture and never completed the plumbing. the kitchen was a coolers dream a table build edifiying the locals. after the permit became a residence i sought my own finances and well the roof remained several large black tarps under boards worked to a small degree a failure to stay dry. though the pools could be panned for drinking cause i had to sleep in the well shed when i had tennants. and some where befor i purchased the property sticks and stones had broken the pipe! so i had to get water from the neighbors fauset. there were plenty of grades to be had at school and after passing out in a door way to the computer room from forgetting to eat and hydrating only on coke a cola which wasn’t at all classic. i awoke again in a hospital from somewhere i know not. mom pulled me to her home with dad for a day and i left school. not for the last time. i think i broke a record for activating the most civilities in one quarter. the mail box was huge and an empty nest. wish bone my husky dog was frequently in need of a tether he could eat his way to freedom. several gardens saw me through the snowy one or two weeks of monthly rain and inclement weather later the tarp was iradiated with the shadows of the large trees. i had to leave for the incoming sound of the students Operating Systems being played over and well i needed more serious help. no money coming in so i gave it away.
