Hi, I have been on lumberjocks for some time and just started looking at the refurbers site. It is very interesting to see the great work people are doing.
This is a wall that got out of hand.
First of all we decided to rebuild the wall at the front of our house as it was damaged by years if road spray and all the mortar was loose. I was worried it would just collapse and it was way beyond re-pointing.
When we went to knock it down I just gave it a kick and it fell right over.
Unfortunately most of the sandstone in the original wall was unusable as it split into small pieces.
This is made of reclaimed stone that we salvaged from some old outbuildings and other walls around the garden.
It took couple of weeks to complete.
Also this was my first go at shuttering concrete which was used to shore up the neighbours wall and fix the gate post to.
Please note I have little wall building experience. The hardest and most time consuming thing was just selecting and placing the random stones, it was a bit like very heavy tetris.
