Same house as the fireplace with the stone….Small kitchen…not much to work with. We took the original cabinets and refinished them and put new hardware on….Stove/dishwasher….....put a marble backsplash above the stove area…kept the original stainless steel sink/Countertop combo and went to a salvage place and got a 2” acacia, (spelling ? ) countertop to make the rest of the counters and a small table by the frig. finish in natural with 5 coats of Waterlox Original Sealer/Finish wet sanded between coats. Put 1×6 t&g pine on the ceiling to give it a different look.

Looks great Todd! I like the look of the wood with the other elements. I’m working on a waterfront home near Port Ludlow WA. With it’s own beach above a bluff. I stay for 7 days then 2 off. I will post a bunch of pic’s when done.

That is a great counter top. I’ve seen and thought about doing something like that, but never had the guts to try it. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts in a year or two. I’m sure it will hold up, but I’m rather lazy when it comes to maintaining counter tops.

I have always admired workers who are able to salvage a large area of the kitchen. It has never be an easy feat for me to take on, hence so far I have only hacked the entire cabinet area to fix a new setup which costs more.

I am enjoying the white and clean look of everything here but I would really like to see what the kitchen looked like before you did it up! It gives me an idea of just how much work went into making the finished thing!
