The wall

This is what he did. He built the wall in two sections for the lenght and took half of the wall down, put the new wall in and added the top section. He couldnt build the wall the full height because there wasnt enough room. I hope this works, please don’t tell me if you feel any different about it. Well, maybe you should. I didnt go down there when he did this. I was afraid the whole thing might fall in. He’s going to run boards going across where every stud is and cut out the two old ones that where in there. So this raises our ceiling in that room and we can have normal size doors. He’s going to vault the 2 bedroom ceilings. Thanks for looking and for the advise.

Looks like a structural supporting wall? Is so I don’t think what you did meets and codes.

Well, there are no codes out there. My dad’s wall was much worse, so this has to be better. I hope. Any suggestions?

I think it looks very well built. I personally would have no concerns about that wall.
