Total gut job

Here is my 2009 summer project in my bathroom that took about 6 weeks and 300 hrs of work and a cost of about $7000 bucks. I did all the work pictured with a little help from an electrical friend. Anyway, the floor under the toilet was giving way after many years of leaking and previous owners trying to fix the weakened joist. Also, the plumbing inside the shower wall began to leak and I discovered the previous homeowner GLUED the copper together…didn’t last too long.

Anyway, I Liquid nailed, sistered, carriage bolted and bridged all the joist. It is built like a tank now with 2- 3/4 sheets of ply on top. I put all new copper plumbing in for the entire bath and kitchen since it butted up to it as well. New electrical outlets were added in all adjacent rooms since the walls were down. Kitchen got 3 outlets and a future expansion utility box, hallway and bedroom got outlets as well. I also love my led GFI that turn on at night and all my fixtures are on dimmers and timers.

Besides that, I added a window and a skylight and the light from both is AMAZING!!!!! Previous owners covered the window and sided over it!!!!! About $1200 in travertine and granite countertops round out the project, oh, and Kohler fixtures as well.
