Enhancing an Asphalt Driveway: Belgian Block & Pavers

Was recently trying to salvage my asphalt driveway, which was damaged from construction trucks. The edges were cracking and breaking up. Worked with a local mason to put in an angled Belgian Block on the right/left sides, and we put in a paver apron at the top as well. In essence, we cut out all the “obliterated” sections of asphalt and tried to dress everything up. It all looked great – but, ultimately, the asphalt was too far gone and had to be replaced as well. Oh well, I tried… ;-)

If this is something you’re thinking of doing strictly for aesthetics (or even if you’re trying to avoid an asphalt job as I was initially), perhaps these photos will be of help. I also have a description of the whole process on my blog site as well. I talk about many of the details there:

Any comments/suggestions most sincerely appreciated as this is my first posting here!
