One of six NON-MIRROR medicine cabinets

Project by PaBull posted 09-16-2008 04:08 PM 6552 views 6 times favorited 17 comments Add to Favorites Watch

We needed six medicine cabinets for the different bathrooms throughout the house. Instead of mirror my wife choose glass, so they could be used more as a display.

For the construction of the glass door (same for mirror doors), please check my blog http://homerefurbers.com/members/PaBull/blog/83 .

I used the Kregg pocket hole jig for extra strength on the glass doors.

I used Maple and finished them with 2 coats of tung oil and 2 coats of polyurethane.

Inside I used a white wash, outside is matched to the base cabinets. I used maple.

Update, 3/20/12 for the Challenge-03:
My wife asked for medicine cabinets without mirrors. So we put just glass in them. I think they came out pretty cool.
Debbie, I have no before pictures, there was no before, sorry!! :-)

Pabull.

These turned out very nice. Looks like the house is coming together quite well. My wife doesn’t let me put glass doors on anything. I guess she doesn’t want you to see what’s going to fall out when you open the door.
Thanks for the post.

Great cabinet work and thanks for all the photos – but who on earth wants to see – let alone display – all the stuff and personal things normally found in our medicine cabinets? That’s why medicine cabinets don’t have glass doors!

My dear beloved wife! This was her wish. She wanted to put the pretty soap and fancy smellies up in these little cabinets and I made her very happy with these cabinets. This was exactly what she ordered.

So there you have it, Molly.

Thanks for you post, and I hope you hubby will do the same for you.

Nice cabinets PaBull.I too wondered at the glass instead of mirror but your wife seems to have thought this all out.So do you keep medicines and related stuff in a drawer?

Medicines should be out of reach of the kids, so mom has those locked up out of the way. The other stuff in the drawers.

Thanks for your comment.
