Hi All,

I’m still hammering away at starting my woodworking/reno business and so far things are going steady. I finished the oak floor and the patio enclosure I mentioned in my previous posting. I’m helping my son-in-law restore an old bathroom in their house as a second bath so that’s kept me busy this past week. The more of this work I do the more I love it! Things aren’t looking good at my day job so perhaps God will help me with my dream of starting a woodworking business. I’ve picked out a business name, started doing up fliers, and am talking to a fellow about helping me start a website. I’ve gotten a lot of encouraging comments and support. I’m learning that one improtant thing to have is belief in yourself. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know what I want to be doing when it gets here…

I’ll try to post some pictures this weekend.

keep of the good work. with the website you need to go out and let people know about your site. My best friend had a website for 5 years and never got any work from it. in less than 2 months I got him 7 jobs for a percentage of course. The saying if you build it they will come doesn’t hold true for websites…

keep it going….....I don’t have a website, flyers or even a business card, not real all that smart on my part…..since I started this business 3 1/2 years ago I’ve gone from job to job based on past work, clients and I work with one of the top Realtors in the area and get allot of add on / changes to the new home work from her…
a couple of things to pass on…
1 . When a client says ” while you are here can you do xxx” do up a change order with a price to do the additional work. I have found that when a client says ”While you are here” they assume that you will do it for free….

2. This is an easy one that gets me ALLOT of business…keep the work site as clean as you can… I clean every night before I leave…I have clients tell me almost everyday how much they appreciate how clean it is. It projects a certain quality of your work…. as stupid as it may sound I have had a ton of clients say the Joe client told them how great the work was and how clean and professional I was….LOL…..
