I am in the process of converting a garage with a cinder block walls and a precast cement ceiling. I am looking for advice for insulating and finishing the ceiling. The height is only 7’ so I don’t want to add too much thickness. I have seen recommendations for THERMAX panels secured in a number of different ways, firing strips attached with anchors with foam in between, carpet squares, whatever. The main purpose of the insulation will be to keep the Minnesota winter from battling my new unit heater. It also needs to look good so I’ll need to put up drywall or panels. Has anyone had experience doing this kind of thing (good or bad) that will help me decide what to do? Thanks a ton, |
