Topic tags/keywords: floors kitchen question flooring

My wife and I planning on putting in engineered flooring on throughout our downstairs. Its above grade, but we are on a slab hence the engineered and not hardwood. One of the flooring stores recommended Mullican Austin Springs. It is supposed to be fairly new. I was wondering if anyone had used or heard anything about the Austin Springs line.

No, but you should be able to get some good reviews by googling the company

I would still make sure you use a good vapor barrier. I haven’t heard of this Co. but dflecher is right, google and look up reviews.

I personally haven’t sold Mullican, but have had some experience with them…they are a good company and have been around over 20 years, I know a number of folks that have sold Mullican hardwood for years without incident. I just took a look at the Austin Springs line and it looks to be pretty good…7 ply, aluminum oxide coating, 25 year finish warranty…on paper, certainly looks like a solid product.

I have found the Armstrong hardwood products to be a good mixture of quality and competitive pricing, so I generally find myself leaning towards Armstrong…but I don’t see any red flags with the product you are looking at.

I have done several installations of the Toklo commercial line from www.builddirect.com/Laminate-Flooring.aspx including my own home. Good prices and a good product.

I haven’t personally used or heard about the Mullican Austin Springs line, but it’s great that you’re considering engineered flooring for your home. It’s a practical choice for repair work Los Angeles slab construction. I would recommend researching customer reviews and possibly visiting a showroom to see the product in person before making a final decision.
