Ok I know this is probably not the right place for this….but I feel like we are all friends here…..

Short story.
I actually meet my wife in kindergarden class…we started to hold hands in the 8th grade, got married right out of high school, 33 years ago this April, and she has supported me in every crazy idea I ever had and there have been plenty….............

my wife, Cheryl is about 5’ 1” and when she got pregnant with our first child she looked like a pumpkin with legs, I called her Slim and it has been a nick name ever since…..

about 2 months ago Slim was diagnosed with 2 forms of breast cancer….........:-(

If you know about cancer then you know that they can’t tell you anything until the operate and do some more biopsy…....
the waiting and not knowing has been real hard on us…..

Well today is the day…..

She goes in for surgery today….....Double mastectomy….....

Her surgery is at 1:00 EST they tell us it will be 7-8 hrs long….so what I’m asking, if you fell lead to, at this time stop and lift her up to our savior and ask him to guide the 2 surgeons working on her today and that all of this will be for His glory and that he heals her if that is his will…...

I can’t tell you how much I love this women…...and don’t want to give her up yet….

sorry for the rant…thank you

it’s now almost 3 o’clock. This is perhaps the hardest part of your wait—- the “it’s been so long already” but still so long to go. Know that you have “friends at your side” even if we have never met and live far away.

Our prayers are with you. I am sorry for the diagnosis, but, we serve a God much bigger than this cancer.

We want to thank everyone here for the prayers and kind thoughts….
she was in surgery for 7 hours and 28 min…
she got to her room a little after midnight…I got home at 2:30….tired but good..

the first surgeon said that she had 2 hard lymph nodes that he removed and is having tested….will know more in a couple of days…...2 surgeon said everything on his end went fine and he wants to get her home at out of the hospital as soon as he can…??? we ask why and he told us the she has such a big wound area that the germs that live through the cleaning hospitals do are stronger then the one in our house, I guess he hasn’t seen my shop, and Slim’s body was use to the germs at home. He explained that he is trying to grow new skin and needs her in the safest environment for that and he believes its at the house with us….

We have such great friends here at HR and everywhere…..I can’t tell you enough how much it means to Slim and I

One of our friends who has simply the most beautiful long hair, according to Slim, went and had her hair cut off, 10 inches I think she said, to give it to the cancer society for a wig for Slim. She wanted Slim to have her hair in cause she looses hers…....God is good to us he has given us great friends..

Well in two days we will find out how to go about treating it…Slim is in great sprits…..

Thank you all again

Todd,
My wife and I have you in our thoughts today.
She works at a Oncology doctor’s office and knows what you are going through.
She wanted me to tell you that staying positive is very important, and realise we have come a long way in treating cancer. So keep your chin up for slim. She needs you to be strong.

Also, I want to believe the doctors always have your best interest at heart and will do everything they can, regardless of Divine intervention. You are in good hands.

Love ya bro.

A big THANK YOU to everyone here…...

Slim got to come home last night after having a blood transfusion, I told her she must be part vampire as she looked and felt like a different person after the transfusion….......
We got the pathology report last night as well…..cancer has gone to the lymph nodes….bummer, but that does not mean the end it just means it’s not as good as if it hadn’t gone to the lymph nodes….she will probably start chemo in 2 to 3 weeks, we expected this anyway so not a big deal…...she is in great spirits and it is amazing how great she is doing so soon…...

Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers…..
