Better Pic later w/gutters:

Home built Fall 1952 – Sold January 1953 to first owners – my birth month & year. I am the third owner.

Poured Concrete Basement walls and floor. A Shuffle Board Game built into the tiled floor on one side of that basement. Built in special lightening for dances that 1st owners installed in basement as well. Includes mirrored ball and strobe lightening.

New Electrical Panel installed 1986. Includes enough power to my basement and garage workshop(s) now. New Gas Furnace 1996. New A/C installed 2002.

New Roof Fall 2007 – All new Gutters just put on March 2008.

1850 Sq.Ft. w/attached 2-car Garage. I attached the Garage to the Home with a new room we call the Breezeway with a valted ceiling – just after we moved in 1983, adding 450 Sq.ft. to the house. I put a summer kitchen (2nd kitchen) in the Breezeway this past Spring. I built the cabinets and ceramic tile tops.

Thanks PJ ! We found the house on the internet. Knew right away it was the one.

I’ve always liked stonework. Your place looks like a house my dad and I worked on about 40 yrs ago. He was a mason and I carried the bricks, blocks and stone

Dennis—enjoy your straw and beam house. Looks like something a artist or professor might live in. It fits your style.

Nice photo of your home Debbie. How many acres, appears you have a couple of acres to mow anyway.

This is my Arts and Crafts bungalow, Texas style. I had to have the right place to put all of my Arts & Crafts furniture. About 1450 sq ft. The shop is next door. 24’ x 24’ with an upstairs 20’ x20’ apartment. House is still
under construction. This is about a year into the construction. Currently (2yrs) the outside is done, except for the front door. All of the dry wall is up and textured. I’m currently working on the woodwork and kitchen cabinets.

I have one acre and 90% of it is in front of the house – not very private. But.. one area at a time, we’ll start creating a lovely “retreat” all around our home

Hi ALL

I just posted my place – you can see it http://homerefurbers.com/topics/9

Debbie - your photograph looks like our place did last week (30cm snow and -10°), but now spring has struck with a vengance – new life is showing everywhere – even the Rhubarb is pushing its way through the last of the snow.

Dennis - he can Huff and Puff al he likes, he aint going to blow that place down!

Moved in February 2008

We moved into here at the begining of the year, a 1985 built home, surrounded by native trees. Well cared for home, but I’ll find find things to improve.

We are on a 2.5 acres wooded lot. My husband cleared the land by himself in Spring of 2003.
The house is less than 1000 sq.f. but as mentioned we have a basement that we are renovating!
And this picture was taken last September from an airplane!!

Dan: Yep, they actually bus the kids into our neighborhood with those big cargo vans…we go through pounds and pounds of candy.

Drsawdust: I dig the lights on the tops of your columns…I’ve been meaning to do something similar, but am stuck on the practicality of lighting on a temporary setup. Will you share how you did it?

I just took this picture this morning, after a 10”- 12” overnight snow.

The reason we don’t have many pictures of our house in the summer, is because this is where we spend our summers.

Here is a bad picture of my house in San Diego, a small 2Br, 2Ba, 1050sqft home where we raised two loving girls, lots of memories here.

Here is a picture of our place in Brookings, Oregon. This is where we will be retiring to when we get the chance to sell our house in San Diego. This house is a 3br, 2ba, 1740 sqft in a small, community oriented town on the coast.

This is my place, I designed and contracted it 5 years ago. DH did much of the interior finish work and built the garage/loft/coop. Everything is built with indoor air quality in mind. Natural zero-VOC paints, hard surfaces and low maintenance.

The interior is all pine & spruce with ceramic tile floors.
