Boiler coming on for DHW when it's not needed

I recently received a >$100 dollar bill for oil. Now, normally this would not be surprising to me, but I really don’t use my oil heat very much (I heat with wood). Unfortunately, my boiler comes on very regularly anyway, and I suspect it’s for domestic hot water. I have a New Yorker AP-490U boiler, which I understand to be a tankless DHW solution as well. It has quite an old controller from what I can see. Can anyone tell me if there’s anything I can do to reduce the energy usage of this boiler when no-one is calling for DHW?
