Hi sorry if this is talked about somewhere but I have no idea what the mechanism is called, which is why I’m making this post, to find out! It is in one of these:

http://www.simplelighting.co.uk/products/Kitchen-Worktop-Pop-Up-Plug-Socket-Incl-USB-Connection-With-Black-Top.html?gclid=CMH77J3Wy7wCFYjLtAodhiUABQ

You generally see them for popping up hidden mains sockets but I have a different use for the mechanism re: a woodworking project. I know you screw them into place more or less where you need them then I believe you use a screwdriver to wind down (or up) the closed position so that it becomes flush with the surface. Can anyone help me out?

Many thanks
Jeremy

So I think I could use a little more expansion of what you’re looking for: You want a pop-up socket assembly? Or you want a pop-up assembly that reveals something else? Or…?

Seems like at the simplest level you could just do a hatch with a push-press latch mechanism (like you’d use to do push-to-open on a cabinet door.

Hi, sorry I didn’t get back to you Dan, don’t know what happened there, but rubytorres I don’t think it is necessary to revive a thread which has been dead for nearly two years just to say you don’t know.
