Topic tags/keywords: tip stainless steel sink rust

Not sure where to put this topic but here goes. We got a new single bowl sink and countertops recently. SWMBO threatened me if I got rust spots in it from leaving cast iron skillets in it too long. Well….......I found a good way to remove the rust stains. Scotchbrite did a decent job but left a “shadow” in the sink. What is a mild abrasive? Toothpaste has a mild abrasive. So…...I put a couple of globs in the sink, wet a cloth and scrubbed with the grain of the SS. Waaahooooo! I works! SWMBO also said that the Magic Sponges work, also. Thanks for reading and hope this will help someone in the future.

Good to know! I’m a big fan of Barkeeper’s Friend for stainless steel of all sorts, but other options are always useful to play with!

And as a bonus, the sink won’t get cavities….

.... ever tried coca cola? When you see what it does to rust, it makes one wonder what it does to our gut.

neat idea about the tooth paste.
